The centenarian tradition of the art of wood-carving, made the Gardena Valley world wide well known and induced the young Karl Demetz to try this artistical and difficult profession. After arts-school, further training in various master workshops and the successful examination for the title of master, Karl Demetz decided to work as an independent wood-carver building up his own artistical programme.
Gradually from one design to the other he created the present collection, containing exclusive motives based on own designs, which we want to present you in part. Karl Demetz prefers religious sculptures like various patron saints executed in a beautiful rich baroque style, but also profan motives, for example scenes of rural life, various craftmen, musicians, figures of children, angels, cribs and wallreliefs. Special designs on request are also carved.
In the last 30 years the master workshop Karl Demetz became, through his high quality and expression and the original designs to an international term for dealers and amateurs of wood-carvings.
